Drawing inspiration from African idioms and infused with E_mania’s unique perspective, the South African brand positions itself as an artistic movement committed to reimagining African idioms through textiles and clothing. The essence of E_mania lies in its deep connection to the rich tapestry of African cultural experiences.
Upholding the brand’s design philosophy, founder Kuhle ensures that each garment adheres to the 3 R promise – Repair, Re-Use, and Recycle – reinforcing E_mania’s commitment to sustainability. This eco-conscious approach highlights the brand’s dedication to preserving the environment while celebrating African heritage.
E_mania has proudly showcased 2 collections at South Africa Fashion Week, gaining recognition for its innovative cultural interpretation in design. Currently, the brand is collaborating with the British Council of Ethiopia on a fashion residency program. This initiative aims to educate designers on the processes of working with cotton and silk, as well as traditional hand-woven techniques. Through workshops on weaving, spinning, natural dye techniques, and block printing. Kuhle is currently partnering with Guzo Technologies to convert three designs into 3D garments, preparing for a virtual fashion show hosted by the British Council of Ethiopia and five other fashion shows across Africa.
